Soundscapes-Dementia focuses on conversations of spaces in Nicosia. The aim is to analyse the everydayness of sounds within the streets of the old town, Nicosia, in the northern part of the island. Perhaps the places and spaces we avoid and therefore forget the most are because of the mundanity and repetitiveness or perhaps to unsee the unwanted. This is also reflected in the last divided city, Nicosia. Unbearable times with society and how we deal with the everydayness of hardships. The recordings are collected during the pre and post lockdown of the pandemic. Therefore, walking in the city unconsciously turned into a conscious act. The sound at the end is a reflection of an inner turmoil finding its form with the help of society and the neighbourhoods themselves.
